Knoxville top the table for the first time in its professional history

We're nearing the conclusion of the first month of the season and all 12 clubs have made their season debut.

How long will Knoxville remain on top of the table? Can the Kickers turn things around without Emiliano Terzaghi? Tell us why your club should rank higher and keep the conversation going on Twitter at @USLLeagueOne.

Summary

1 Union Omaha
(1-0-0)
Week 3: ---

Last Week: 1
Average Ranking: 1
The Owls are set to go nearly a month without playing a league match. Until proven otherwise, they’ll likely remain perched atop the Power Rankings as they gear up for U.S. Open Cup play and an April 12 league fixture against first-place Knoxville.
2 One Knoxville SC
(2-0-0)
Week 3: W v LEX
3
Last Week: 5
Average Ranking: 5
After downing Barrel Brawl rival and first-place Lexington last week, One Knox sits atop the League One table for the first time in club history. Knoxville’s 2.64 points won above expected are the most in the league.
3 Greenville Triumph SC
(1-0-1)
Week 3: T v MAD
1
Last Week: 4
Average Ranking: 6
After starting the 2023 campaign with four consecutive losses across all competitions, Greenville have flipped the switch, reeling off three consecutive victories across U.S. Open Cup and league play. A victory against struggling Lexington SC could help cement Rick Wright’s side as a real contender.
4 Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC
(0-1-1)
Week 3: L @ SPK
1
Last Week: 3
Average Ranking: 4
Just one of two clubs yet to find the back of the net, the Hailstorm have won just a single point across two early-season contests. Next, Northern Colorado will prep to travel to Greenville and face Triumph SC - a team it’s lost to just once in five meetings - on April 6.
5 Lexington SC
(1-1-1)
Week 3: L @ KNX
3
Last Week: 2
Average Ranking: 3
Despite being the only team with multiple clean sheets on the season, Lexington have picked up just four of a possible nine points. LSC will host Greenville in the first USL League One match on CBS Sports Golazo Network on Friday in a contest it’ll feel desperate to earn a result from.
6 Forward Madison FC
(0-0-2)
Week 3: T @ GVL

Last Week: 6
Average Ranking: 6
After starting the 2023 season on a club-best six-match unbeaten run in league play, Madison have not picked up a victory in a League One match since Sept. 14, 2023. Should Christian Chaney fail to score on his return to Fresno on Friday, the ‘Mingos could very well be in danger of going winless in their first three league matches for the third time in club history.
7 Spokane Velocity FC
(2-1-0)
Week 3: W v NCO
2
Last Week: 9
Average Ranking: 9
Spokane have come out swinging ever since dropping its first contest in Greenville in Week 1. The first-year side has accrued the highest goals-added differential (1.94) across the league, according to American Soccer Analysis.
8 Charlotte Independence
(0-1-0)
Week 3: ---
1
Last Week: 7
Average Ranking: 6
It’s been almost two weeks since the Jacks fell in their opening league match of the season to Knoxville. At home to Spokane on Thursday, Charlotte must earn a result against the newcomers to feel good about its start to the season.
9 South Georgia Tormenta FC
(1-1-1)
Week 3: W @ RIC
3
Last Week: 12
Average Ranking: 11
The Ibises bounced back from a slow start to league play with a 3-1 thumping of Richmond at City Stadium. If a few other results go its way, South Georgia could leapfrog first-place One Knox with a win at Regal Soccer Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
10 Chattanooga Red Wolves SC
(0-1-0)
Week 3: ---
2
Last Week: 8
Average Ranking: 8
Due to stadium renovations in Chattanooga, the Red Wolves won’t see the pitch in league play until April 13 when they take on Fuego FC in Fresno; Chattanooga will very likely sit at the bottom of the table by that point of the season.
11 Central Valley Fuego FC
(1-1-0)
Week 3: ---

Last Week: 11
Average Ranking: 11
Central Valley maintains the best average shooting accuracy (56.25%) but worst average passing accuracy (71.99%) across the league. Jermaine Jones will be seeking his first home victory in Christian Chaney’s return to Fresno with the ‘Mingos on Friday.
12 Richmond Kickers
(0-2-0)
Week 2: L v TRM
2
Last Week: 10
Average Ranking: 10
Richmond currently maintain the lowest points-minus-expected-points mark (-3.13) and goal-differential-minus-expected-goal-differential value (-4.55) across the league. Despite averaging a league-best 60.26% possession, the Kickers need to turn things around in a hurry.
