GREENVILLE, S.C. - Greenville Triumph SC has announced it has signed Greenville native and defender Hayden Anderson to his first professional contract, pending league and federation approval.

Anderson started his collegiate career at the University of South Carolina Upstate between 2019 and 2021 before transferring to the University of Memphis in 2022.

During his time at Memphis, Anderson scored the team's first goal of the year in their 5-0 shutout against Queens, as well as assisted the match-tying goal in the team's comeback win against Central Arkansas. Prior to transferring his senior year, the defender was named to the Big South All-Conference Second Team and earned Defensive Player of the Week while at USC Upstate. In his first season with the Spartans, Anderson scored the match-winning goal against South Carolina, leading the program to their first-ever victory over the Gamecocks.

"In my introductory press conference, I stressed the importance of signing local players, and Hayden is the first of those," Greenville Head Coach Rick Wright said. "He has a good pedigree, playing at Woodmont High and USC Upstate before transferring to Memphis. He had a great college career and we are expecting good things out of him. Hayden is a good athlete, with good technical skills and a good soccer sense. We’re excited to have him on board for 2024."
