KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - One Knoxville SC today has completed the signing of defender DJ Benton, pending league and federation approval.

The 24-year-old joins One Knoxville SC after spending last season with North Carolina FC, where he featured in 28 games for the 2023 USL League One champions. Prior to his time in Cary, Benton spent time with North Texas SC and Chattanooga Red Wolves SC in League One.

"DJ brings great athleticism, great pace, and has the ability to provide product at both ends of the field," Knoxville Head Coach Mark McKeever said. "DJ has been to the League One Final twice in as many years, winning of course last year. This in itself is a valuable asset for us."

"I'm super excited for what this 2024 Knoxville team will accomplish," Benton said. "There are lots of positives to build on from last season and already a lot of great additions."
