TAMPA, Fla. – Richmond Kickers forward Emiliano Terzaghi has been voted USL League One’s Player of the Month for September after recording four goals in four games to keep his side in contention for a place in the League One Final in October while also taking the lead in the race for the League One Golden Boot which is awarded at the end of the regular season.
A native of Argentina, Terzaghi has made a key impact in the Kickers’ turnaround this season with his consistent production. The runner-up in August’s Player of the Month ballot to Union Omaha’s Ethan Vanacore-Decker, the 27-year-old has appeared in every game of the season so far and not only leads League One with nine goals overall but has also registered 20 shots on goal, good for second in the league, and a 65.7 percent shooting accuracy rate, the highest among players with at least four goals in the regular season.
“I don't know if there is a key, I think that things are achieved by working with effort and sacrifice,” Terzaghi said on the reasons for his quick success this season. “Those are the things that I have as a priority to achieve goals.
“Before each game I always try to help the team win, as a striker I always want to score always thinking of surpassing myself each game.”
Terzaghi received 45 percent of a weighted poll that included the USL League One Technical Committee and an online fan vote held at USLLeagueOne.com. Fort Lauderdale CF’s Eduardo Sosa finished second on 26 percent after recording two goals and one assist, while Chattanooga Red Wolves SC’s Marky Hernandez finished third on 20 percent after notching three assists in four games.
