Goalkeeper and Midfielder featured for Triumph Head Coach at FC Cincinnati

Goalkeeper Dallas Jaye spent two seasons working with Triumph Head Coach John Harkes at FC Cincinnati.

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Greenville Triumph SC added two new players to its inaugural roster on Tuesday as the club announced the signings of goalkeeper Dallas Jaye and midfielder Aaron Walker for the 2019 USL League One season, pending league and federation approval.

Both players join the club having previously worked with Greenville Head Coach John Harkes, who coached the duo during his time in charge of former USL Championship side FC Cincinnati.

Jaye, who joined FCC ahead of its inaugural season in 2016, heads to Greenville after spending last year with Phoenix Rising FC, where he served as the club’s third-choice goalkeeper.

“Being a part of an inaugural team is a very unique thing,” said Jaye. “I have been able to do that once in my career already which was a great experience. As players, we get to build a team and a club from the ground up and pursue a vision that was expressed to us by Coach Harkes. What he sees for this club is a big part about why I am so excited to be a part of it.”

The 25-year-old spent two seasons in Cincinnati before returning to the desert, where he featured for FC Tucson in USL League Two during his collegiate career. Jaye was instrumental in Tucson’s 2013 U.S. Open Cup run, starting in all three of the side’s matches. He has also represented Guam on the international stage, making the first of nine career appearances for the senior national team in 2012.

“Having worked with Dallas Jaye in Cincinnati, I was able to witness his everyday growth as a keeper,” said Harkes.  “I followed his career with Phoenix and now we are able to bring him to our club. Dallas is a quality keeper and a solid pro and leader on and off the field.”

Walker joins the Triumph having previously competed for the Atlanta Silverbacks. The 28-year-old captained the club in 2018 and recorded six goals and four assists in his first season with the team.

“I’m excited to bring Aaron to the Greenville Triumph from Atlanta,” said Harkes. “Aaron is technically clean and possesses great vision and passing range in the midfield. He’s a great pro with experience.”

The Woodstock, Georgia native played collegiately at Oglethorpe University for four seasons, where he led the team to its first-ever conference championship and served as team captain in 2011. In addition to spending the 2017 season with Harkes and Jaye at FCC, Walker has also featured for the Georgia Revolution and Icelandic club Vestra.

“I am just very humbled for the opportunity to be a part of something special from the ground up,” Walker said. “I was able to chat with Coach Harkes in Greenville, and I came away with a very good feeling about the team and the community’s support. This club has very high aspirations, and I am extremely excited to be a part of it.”
