FC Tucson Adds Abergil to Attacking Arsenal

Forward joins the club after stint in Israeli Premier League

TUCSON, Ariz. – FC Tucson added another forward to its arsenal on Monday as the club announced the signing of former Israeli Premier League forward Roy Abergil for the 2019 USL League One season, pending league and federation approval.

Per club policy, the details of the contract will not be released.

“I am very excited to sign with FC Tucson,” said Abergil. “It means a lot to sign with them in their first professional season, especially at this point in my life. I am very excited to be a part of something so special.”

The Beeercheeva, Israel native most recently played in his home country for Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv FC of the Israeli Premier League. However, Abergil played collegiately in the U.S., scoring 49 goals in 65 career appearances during a four-year stint at Colorado Mesa University. During his senior campaign, Abergil scored 23 goals and earned First Team All-American and South-Central Region Player of the Year honors. 

Abergil becomes the 10th addition to Tucson’s 2019 roster, joining Kyle Bjornethun, Guillermo Delgado, Karsten Hanlin, Austin Ledbetter, Moshe Perez, Raheem Somersall, Kody Wakasa, Kienan Weekes and Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu.
