TUCSON, Ariz. – The first player signing in FC Tucson’s professional history is also a face that will be very familiar to the club’s longstanding fans, as the club unveiled attacking midfielder Moshe Perez on Thursday as its first arrival for the 2019 USL League One.
“FC Tucson is the best environment I could have entered myself into for my rookie season, due to how great the club is and its affiliation with [USL Championship club Phoenix] Rising,” said Perez. “It’s exciting for the club to make the professional jump to USL League One! FCT has always been an elite club so we are definitely prepared for the transition.”
Perez was a USL League Two All-League selection for FC Tucson in the 2017 season as he led FCT to a 7-4-3 record while registering 12 goals in league action and another in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Perez’s electrifying season also led to him being named as the 2017 CARF International MVP award at the club.
In addition to his stellar performances in Tucson, Perez also shone in the collegiate ranks. A standout at the University of Denver in his senior season, Perez was invited to the 2019 Major League Soccer Combine earlier this month. He had previously featured for three seasons at Colorado-Mesa University, and over 73 career appearances, Perez registered 25 goals and 29 assists in his collegiate career.
