Former Reno 1868 FC netminder becomes club's seventh signing

LANSING, Mich. – Lansing Ignite FC announced on Thursday it signed goalkeeper Kyle Ihn ahead of the 2019 USL League One campaign, pending league and federation approval.

The 6-foot-2 netminder spent the 2018 USL Championship season with Reno 1868 FC. Before turning pro, Ihn played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and suited up for the Kokomo Mantis and Des Moines Menace of USL League Two.

“Kyle has all of the key qualities we are looking for in a goalkeeper,” Lansing Head Coach Nate Miller said. “He plays with excellent poise, is a fantastic shot-stopper and has very good feet and tactical understanding. He leads the team by beginning attacks from the back.”

Ihn becomes the first goalkeeper named to Miller’s side for the 2019 season and is the seventh player overall to be announced ahead of the inaugural USL League One regular season, joining Xavier Gomez, Rafa Mentzingen, Christian Silva, Kyle Carr, Nathan Lewis and Steeve Saint-Duc.

“It’s an honor to represent Lansing Ignite FC this season, and I can’t wait to get started,” Ihn said. “I’ve seen the support the team has received on social media and look forward to suiting up for the Lansing community in 2019.”
