Former FCD Academy players join pro ranks as second, third players in club's history

FRISCO, Texas – North Texas SC announced on Thursday it had signed former FC Dallas Academy players Ronaldo Damus and Brecc Evans pending league and federation approval. Damus, a forward, joins the club on a one-year contract, with option for the 2020 season. Evans, a defender, joins the club on two-year contract, with an option for the 2021 season.

Damus joined the FC Dallas U-19s for the second half of 2017-18 season, scoring 12 goals in 13 games. The 19-year-old striker has made eight appearances for Haiti’s U-20 National Team and started a FIFA World Cup Qualifier vs. Costa Rica for the senior national team in 2016.

Evans played in 93 matches over four seasons in the FCD Academy, winning a U-16 National Championship in 2016 and the Dallas Cup Super Group title in 2017. Also 19 years old, the defender was the captain of the U-19 team during his final season in 2017-18. In his freshman year at California Polytechnic State University, Evans started all 16 matches and recorded a goal and an assist, while earning a spot on the Big West All-Freshman Team.

Damus and Evans are the 27th and 28th Academy products signed to professional contracts by the FC Dallas organization and the second and third to join the organization's new USL League One team ahead of the league's inaugural season in 2019.
