Chattanooga Announces Lady Red Wolves SC Addition to Franchise

Women’s team to kick off inaugural season in 2019

Chattanooga Red Wolves SC has announced the addition of Lady Red Wolves SC to the franchise. The Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) team will begin its inaugural season in 2019 under the leadership of Chattanooga’s WPSL team owner Gretchen Hammel.

According to Hammel, joining the Chattanooga Red Wolves SC brand offers clear opportunity.

"Chattanooga Red Wolves SC shares our vision for the advancement of soccer in the community," said Hammel.

"Through shared resources and passions, Lady Red Wolves SC will focus on growing the game, developing elite players and delivering highly competitive women’s soccer to the Chattanooga region."

Lady Red Wolves SC will operate under the Chattanooga Red Wolves SC umbrella, including the share of offices, branding, ticket solutions and facility resources.

"With the addition of Lady Red Wolves SC, we are able to amplify the Chattanooga Red Wolves SC experience," said Bob Martino, owner of Chattanooga Red Wolves SC. "The team is more than just an independent sector of our franchise—it’s an important part of our brand and a critical piece to the development of soccer in our community."

Lady Red Wolves SC will play at Chattanooga Christian School’s David Stanton Field for the team’s debut season before moving to the franchise’s planned stadium in 2020.

"We are thrilled to welcome Lady Red Wolves SC to our facilities and look forward to hosting the team’s matches next season," said Chattanooga Christian School President Chad Dirkse.
