TAMPA, Fla. – Casey Mills has been named the Director of USL League One Operations ahead of the inaugural 2019 season after serving as the Security and Operations Manager for the 2018 Detroit Tigers Spring Training and Lakeland Flying Tigers High A minor league season in Lakeland, Florida.

As the former Operations Manager and Director of the Game Day Operations for the Tampa Bay Rowdies, Mills will serve as the League One teams’ primary contact for operations matters, oversee and enforce league discipline for players and coaches, as well as team compliance with the league’s minimum standards, and work with the league and club operations staffs to develop operations initiatives, including: game day operations and presentation, facility management, security procedures, team administration and supporters group management.

"Casey's breadth of operational experience makes him the ideal candidate, and we are excited to have him join the USL family ahead of USL League One’s first season," USL League One Senior Vice President Steven Short said. "He will work closely with all of our teams moving forward, serving as the primary contact for all operations matters while ensuring compliance standards are being upheld throughout the league."

Mills received his bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of South Florida.

"This is an exciting opportunity, so I'm thrilled to be joining the league ahead of its first season next year," Mills said. "Having worked on the team side, I know what it takes to run a successful game-day operation, so I look forward to working with all club executives to ensure high-quality performance in year one."
