Becomes Red Wolves SC's first signing for 2019

Chattanooga Red Wolves SC has signed goalkeeper Greg Hartley as the first signee for the club's 2019 USL League One debut, pending league and federation approval. Hartley will join Chattanooga’s professional team from Atherton Collieries A.F.C.

"This is an exciting day as we are beginning to build our professional team," said Tim Hankinson, head coach and technical director of Chattanooga Red Wolves SC. "While Hartley brings exceptional talent and international experience, he’s also familiar to Chattanooga soccer fans and our community. We're excited to announce him as the first player for Chattanooga Red Wolves SC. His presence will anchor this team and help attract additional skilled, professional players."

A native of Manchester, England, Hartley began his professional playing career with English Premier League powerhouse Manchester City F.C., signing his first contract in 2008. As a leading member of the renowned Manchester City Youth Team squad, Hartley’s talent carried his team to secure the FA Youth Cup, making an appearance in all rounds including the two-legged semifinal and final. He's currently a goalkeeper with Atherton Collieries A.F.C., where he helped his team clinch the Integro Cup during the 2017-18 season.

"What I love about Chattanooga is the community that forms around soccer. I've been looking for an opportunity to get back to playing in that atmosphere while also at the professional level," said Greg Hartley. "With the launch of Chattanooga Red Wolves SC, it’s a chance for me to return to a community that has always been there for me, and I plan to be heavily involved in Chattanooga both on and off the field."

With the signing of Hartley, Chattanooga Red Wolves SC continues to build out its roster.
