Nick Wells has signed with South Georgia Tormenta FC ahead of the inaugural season for USL League One in 2019. Wells played in the midfield two years for Tormenta FC and will now begin his first professional contract with the franchise, pending league and federation approval.
At 6 feet and 180 pounds, the Atlanta native was a starter during Tormenta FC’s undefeated regular season and first Deep South Division championship title.
"Nick will be a fantastic addition to our team," said Head Coach and VP of Player Development John Miglarese. "His pace and ability to get forward as a wing back will allow our team to be dynamic going forward.
"I've really enjoyed coaching him over the last two PDL seasons, and he has definitely earned his shot at the professional level."
Wells majored in Sports Management with a minor in Business at Georgia Southern University. He graduated in May 2018. During his time playing for the GSU men’s soccer team, Wells appeared on the Sun Belt All-Conference Team twice and was also the Sun Belt Player of the Week twice.
"When you choose to play for Tormenta FC, you become part of a family," says Wells. "You won’t find anything like it anywhere else. I'm so blessed and honored to be given this opportunity to continue playing for such an amazing club full of amazing people with amazing fans."
