USL Division III executives have another busy month ahead of them, with multiple site visits throughout the country. Building on the previous 25 markets visited, the recent West Coast swing for the league increased the official visit count to 30, with visits to an additional five markets set for next week.

"April and May are going to be important months for USL Division III, and we are excited to visit more markets in the Southeast and Midwest as we prepare for our inaugural season in 2019," USL Division III Senior Vice President Steven Short told USLD3.com. "With new team announcements ahead, the league continues to drive the development of professional soccer into new markets for new fans."

USL Division III has announced three teams – South Georgia Tormenta FC, FC Tucson and Greenville Pro Soccer – as its first three founding members and will unveil additional teams in upcoming weeks. An official brand launch, as well as league structure, will be announced later this year.

Meanwhile, U.S. Soccer revealed the matchups for the First Round of the 2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, and both Tormenta FC and FC Tucson will compete in the 105th edition of the competition after qualifying via the Premier Development League. Tucson will participate in the tournament for a fifth time, having reached the Second Round twice (2016-17) and the Third Round once (2013) after defeating two professional teams. The Arizona-based side will host La Máquina FC at Kino North Stadium (7:30 p.m. MST, May 9). Tormenta FC will take part in the U.S. Open Cup for the first time in its history, traveling to Little River, South Carolina, to play the Myrtle Beach Mutiny (7:10 p.m. ET, May 9).
