While USL Division III executives recently conducted an official visit to Fort Myers, Florida, the league is on the cusp of announcing its third founding member.

League officials spoke to local fans of the game, Lee County leaders and potential ownership about the possibility for professional soccer in Fort Myers, which became the 24th different city visited since the league's formal announcement of the league in April of 2017, from Feb. 27-28.

"Our visit to the city of Fort Myers was the next step towards an expansion franchise in Lee County, Florida," USL DIII Vice President Steven Short told USLD3.com following the visit. "During our time in market, the league continued its efforts with potential ownership and met with local leaders to discuss the expansion opportunity and potential venues."

Meanwhile, the league is preparing to announce its third team next week. The team will join South Georgia Tormenta FC and FC Tucson as members ahead of the inaugural 2019 season.

The #ProSocc3r Primer serves as a valuable resource for fans and followers of the league by providing the latest speculation across the web and official updates on the league.
