TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced its competition structure for the 2026 season, which is set to kick off on Saturday, March 7.
The 34-week regular season will conclude on Saturday, Oct. 24 as 18 clubs pursue a berth in the 2026 USL League One Playoffs, including five clubs that will make their debut in the competition in 2026.
Athletic Club Boise, Corpus Christi FC, Fort Wayne FC, the New York Cosmos and Sarasota Paradise will enter their inaugural seasons in the league, joining defending title-holders One Knoxville SC and the rest of the league’s returning cohort for the biggest season in the league’s history.
The 2026 USL League One regular season will be played in a full-table format that will see each club play a full home-and-home schedule for 34 games, making it the largest regular season slate in league history. Additionally, each club will play four games against USL Championship and League One clubs in the group stage of the USL’s interleague cup competition.

At the conclusion of the regular season, the top eight teams in the standings will qualify for the 2026 USL League One Playoffs which will kick off on the weekend of Oct. 31-Nov. 2, 2026.
The USL League One Playoffs will remain a single-elimination and fixed bracket format, with the higher-seeded club hosting each matchup.
