More than 1,100 saves were recorded across USL League One’s regular season and playoffs in the 2025 season as the league’s goalkeepers delivered a remarkable campaign of stops that grabbed the spotlight throughout the campaign.
Now it’s time to decide the 2025 USL League One Save of the Year presented by Terminix. We’ve picked out 16 top saves and placed them into four groups. Each group winner will advance to next week’s Final stage, where the Save of the Year will be crowned.

Johan Garibay, One Knoxville SC – #TEXvKNX, 3/22/25: Garibay produced an excellent reaction save to keep out a turning finish by Texoma’s Jordan Chavez, turning the effort wide of the left post.
Ricardo Jérez, Chattanooga Red Wolves SC – #GVLvCHA, 6/21/25: The veteran shot-stopper went at full-stretch to make a close-range denial on Greenville’s Rodrigo Robles, allowing his back line to clear the rebound.
Gunther Rankenburg, Greenville Triumph SC – #AVvGVL, 8/16/25: Rankenburg made an outstanding one-handed save to tip a free kick by AV ALTA’s Eduardo Blancas headed toward the top-left corner over the crossbar.
Austin Pack, South Georgia Tormenta FC – #SPKvTRM, 10/11/25: Pack reacted remarkably as he adjusted to the deflection on a shot by Spokane’s Luis Gil to parry the effort wide of the right post in spectacular fashion.
Javier Garcia, Texoma FC – #TEXvOMA, 5/17/25: Garcia recovered brilliantly as he shifted quickly across the goal line to turn a close-range finish by Omaha’s Mehdi Ouamri onto the crossbar and away to safety.
Rashid Nuhu, Union Omaha – #SPKvOMA, 8/2/25: The veteran shot-stopper made an outstanding point-blank save to deny Spokane’s Anuar Pelaez inside the six-yard area, parrying the effort away and recovering to be ready for the rebound shot that went high.
Carlos Merancio, Spokane Velocity FC – #OMAvSPK, 9/17/25: The All-League selection produced a brilliant double-save against Omaha, first denying Ryan Becher’s finish from the right side of the penalty area before stopping Stefano Pinho’s bicycle kick on the rebound.
Denzil Smith, AV ALTA FC – #PORvAV, 10/25/25: The Trinidad and Tobago international made a tremendous stop on Portland’s Titus Washington, stretching and reaching back to make a one-handed save to keep the flicked header out of the left corner of the net.
Bernd Schipmann, Forward Madison FC – #SPKvMAD, 6/14/25: Schipmann made a tremendous stop as he shifted quickly across the goalmouth and parried the ball to safety after an initial header had caromed off the inside of the left post off a corner.
Hunter Morse, Portland Hearts of Pine – #PORvRIC, 8/9/25: The league’s saves leader went at full stretch to keep out a brilliant strike by Richmond’s Ryan Baer, making a one-handed stop to turn the effort off target.
James Sneddon, Richmond Kickers – #RICvKNX, 8/23/25: The Kickers Academy product showed off his reflexes with an outstanding stop from close range to deny a half-volleyed finish by Knoxville’s Kimarni Smith.
Enrique Facussé, Westchester SC – #CHAvWES, 10/25/25: The Honduran made an excellent double-stop in Chattanooga, first making a low save on Matthew Acosta before recovering and grabbing Aaron Lombardi’s effort on the rebound.
Jason Smith, Chattanooga Red Wolves SC – #CHAvMAD, 8/6/25: The Golden Glove-winner made a tremendous reaction save, getting down well to parry away a close-range chance for Madison’s Jacob Crull off a redirected corner.
Amal Knight, Charlotte Independence – #RICvCLT, 9/20/25: The Jamaican international went at full stretch to make a spectacular save on a long-range strike by Richmond’s Chandler O’Dwyer that was pegged for the top-right corner.
Lalo Delgado, FC Naples – #NAPvAV, 9/27/25: Delgado made an incredible double-stop to first deny Antelope Valley’s Alexis Cerritos before recovering to parry a follow-up chance for Jerry Desdunes before collecting the ball safely.
Sean Lewis, One Knoxville SC – #KNXvTEX, 10/19/25: The League One Goalkeeper of the Year produced an outstanding close-range save to deny a first-time finish by Texoma’s Ajmeer Spengler from eight yards out.
