Athletic Club Boise made another splash on Wednesday night ahead of its inaugural season in USL League One as it unveiled its primary kits before a packed house at The Egyptian Theatre in downtown Boise, with the black and green design drawing rave reviews from the fans that attended the event.
Following the lead of the club’s crest, the black jersey with green sleeves features the stylized peregrine falcon icon throughout the shirt, with additional details including a map of Idaho and garnet star marking Boise on the right hip and a purple ‘B’ on the nape of the neck featuring the stylized peregrine falcon.
The extension of the club’s brand was key to producing the design, which will be seen in action for the first time next spring.
“You have to start from nothing. What do we want this to be?” Jennie Telleria, Chief Marketing Officer of Athletic Club Boise told kivitv.com’s Sahana Patel. “And because this is our inaugural season, we knew that we wanted it to be rooted in the identity of the brand and the club, which is rooted in the crest.”
AC Boise has rapidly gained a following across the region, with supporting owner Sofia Huerta among the guests at the launch. In November, the club announced it had reached 5,000 Season Ticket Members as it gets set to kick off at its 7,050-seat home at Expo Idaho, while National Soccer Hall of Fame member Kasey Keller is also among the club’s ownership group.
Wednesday night’s event only added to the anticipation as the club continues to build toward its first taste of action.
“I think the little touches that you see on the kit are the little gemstones that you see within Idaho,” Manuel Perez, the director of marketing for independent supporters group the River Guard, told the Idaho Statesman’s Michael Lycklama. “You go to Coeur d’Alene, you get a different experience. You go to McCall, you get a different experience. You go down to Boise, it's a different experience. You go to Caldwell, Nampa, it's a different experience.
“It’s just all the little pieces that you see within the kit that really does represent us.”
