KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – A new USL League One champion will be crowned when No. 1 seed One Knoxville SC hosts No. 3 seed Spokane Velocity FC in the 2025 USL League One Final on Sunday evening with Players’ Shield winner One Knox aiming to claim the double against a Velocity side making its second trip to the Final in as many years. Kickoff at Covenant Health Park is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET with the game set to air on CBS Sports Golazo Network and SiriusXM FC. Here’s what you need to know.

How They Got Here

One Knoxville SC (16-5-9, 57pts) – Having earned the 2025 League One Players’ Shield with the best campaign in club history, One Knox has maintained its home dominance in the postseason. The side earned its first trip to the League One Final with a 1-0 victory against FC Naples last Saturday night as Kempes Tekiela scored the lone goal of the game, adding to his two assists in the side’s Quarterfinal win against the Charlotte Independence. One Knox has built a League One record in going undefeated in its last 23 home games in League One play, including going 13-0-4 this year in its first season at Covenant Health Park, while the side has built an eight-game winning streak across the regular season and playoffs entering Sunday’s Final. Should the hosts add another win to that streak, it would become the fourth team in League One history to claim both the league title and Players’ Shield in the same campaign.

Spokane Velocity FC (14-7-9, 51pts) – An underdog when it reached the League One Final as the No. 7 seed in its inaugural campaign a year ago, Spokane Velocity FC became the third club to reach the final in each of its first two seasons with consecutive penalty shootout victories on home turf this postseason. Velocity advanced from its Semifinal in dramatic fashion against Portland Hearts of Pine on Sunday night as Nil Vinyals scored in the 121st minute to earn a 2-2 draw after extra time before Carlos Merancio recorded saves in the fifth and seventh rounds to allow the hosts to advance 6-5 from the spot. Spokane’s progression has come despite the side officially going winless in its last four outings across the regular season and playoffs, with Velocity’s last victory occurring on October 18 away at FC Naples. Now it will hope to emulate its predecessors in Greenville Triumph SC (2020) and Union Omaha (2021) for whom the second time was the charm after missing out on the title in the first Final trip for each.

All-Time Series

One Knoxville SC holds a narrow 1-0-3 record in four prior regular season meetings against Spokane Velocity FC, with One Knox’s 1-0 victory at Covenant Health Park in their most recent meeting in August the first time either side had claimed all three points in the series.

Opta Says

2 – One Knoxville SC has conceded only twice at home in the first half of games this season, resulting in a 13-0-3 record when scoring first at home across the regular season and playoffs.

9 – Spokane Velocity FC has scored nine goals in the opening 15 minutes of the second half this season, tied for the most of any team in USL League One.

Players to Watch

One Knoxville SC – Jordan Skelton: The One Knox original was voted USL League One Defender of the Year for the first time this week and alongside Sivert Haugli has been the backbone of the club’s defensive success, a run they’ll be aiming to continue against an enterprising Spokane attack.

Spokane Velocity FC – Luis Gil: The former United States international found the net with an excellent finish against Portland last Sunday and enters the club’s second League One Final as Velocity’s all-time leader in goals (14) and goal contributions (22), making him a key figure in the attacking third.
