USL League One Announces 2025 All-League Teams

Players’ Shield winner One Knoxville leads teams with four selections, 12 clubs represented across First and Second Teams

TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced the 2025 All-League First and Second Teams, recognizing the regular season's top performers this campaign. Twelve of the league’s 14 teams are represented across the First and Second Team, with 17 players earning All-League selection for the first time.

League One Players’ Shield winner One Knoxville SC led all clubs with four selections, with defender Jordan Skelton earning his third consecutive First Team honor and goalkeeper Sean Lewis earning his second. The duo was joined by first-time selections Jaheim Brown and Babacar Diene, who each earned Second Team honors.

Individually, Skelton became only the second player to earn three consecutive All-League First Team honors, joining Emiliano Terzaghi, who earned three consecutive selections between 2020 and 2022 while competing for the Richmond Kickers.

Spokane Velocity FC, FC Naples and Portland Hearts of Pine each had three selections apiece, with Velocity midfielder Luis Gil earning his second consecutive First Team honor while being joined by defender David Garcia, who earned All-League First Team honors for the first time after his Second Team selection a year ago. Spokane was also represented by goalkeeper Carlos Merancio on the All-League Second Team.

Naples’ trio was led by forward Karsen Henderlong, who recorded 14 goals in the regular season to earn First Team honors. Defenders Brecc Evans and Jake Dengler were voted to the Second Team, with the honor the second of Dengler’s League One career.

Portland, meanwhile, saw defender Nathan Messer and midfielder Masashi Wada named to the First Team and forward Ollie Wright named to the Second Team after its strong inaugural regular season campaign.

In addition to Lewis, Skelton and Gil, Westchester SC forward Juan Carlos Obregon Jr. was also voted to the All-League First Team for a second consecutive season after claiming the Golden Boot with 17 goals in the regular season.

The 2025 USL League One All-League Teams were voted on by each team's technical staff and executives following the conclusion of the 2025 USL League One Regular Season.

2025 USL League One All-League First Team

GK – Sean Lewis, One Knoxville SC (Third Selection): Lewis narrowly missed out on a third consecutive League One Golden Glove award but earned his second consecutive All-League First Team honor as he posted the highest save percentage of eligible goalkeepers at 73.4 percent on 59 saves while recording 10 shutouts. Lewis’ underlying numbers were also solid, producing a -0.59 Goals Prevented mark in the regular season.

D – David Garcia, Spokane Velocity FC (Second Selection): Garcia was the central figure in Velocity’s back line, leading the team and ranking fifth in the league with 192 clearances while also winning 18 tackles at an 81.8 percent success rate. A Second Team selection a year ago, Garcia also ranked fifth among defenders with 88 aerial duels won at a 66.7 percent success rate in the regular season.

D – Nathan Messer, Portland Hearts of Pine (First Selection): Making the move to Portland from Rhode Island FC, Messer was one of the breakout performers for the first-year club, recording six goals and four assists while recording 119 clearances and 29 interceptions defensively. The 24-year-old also won 32 tackles at a 78 percent success rate, ranking third among full backs in the league with a +5.31 Goals Added mark.

D – Jordan Skelton, One Knoxville SC (Third Selection): Skelton earned his third consecutive All-League First Team honor after another outstanding season which saw him record 206 clearances, lead the league with 34 blocked shots, and rank second in the league with 114 aerial duels won at a 77 percent success rate. The 28-year-old also logged 72 recoveries and 19 interceptions while grading second among defenders with a 6.90 Goals Added mark.

D – Declan Watters, Chattanooga Red Wolves SC (First Selection): Watters earned the Red Wolves’ lone selection to the All-League Team after a stellar campaign defensively which saw him help the side lead the league in Expected Goals Against (29.67xGA). The Irish center back recorded 180 clearances and won 101 aerial duels at a 61.2 percent success rate while also recording 10 interceptions, 31 recoveries and two goals.

M – Luis Gil, Spokane Velocity FC (Second Selection): The former United States international helped propel Spokane forward in its second season, recording seven goals and three assists while ranking tied for sixth in the league with 47 chances created. Gil also recorded 74 recoveries and won 13 tackles at a 68.4 percent success rate while ranking second on Velocity with a +5.82 Goals Added mark.

M – Max Schneider, Union Omaha (First Selection): Schneider provided a dynamic two-way presences for Omaha in his first full season with the club, recording three goals and three assists while ranking in the top three among midfielders in the league in three categories, recording 183 duels won at a 53 percent success rate, 43 interceptions and 139 recoveries defensively. The German’s Goals Added mark of +4.65 ranked second among central midfielders overall.

M – Masashi Wada, Portland Hearts of Pine (First Selection): The Japanese playmaker proved a key influence for the first-year Hearts of Pine as he recorded nine goals on 40 shots, posting a 60 percent shooting accuracy rate and 25.7 percent shot conversion rate. Wada also recorded 30 chances created and won 138 duels and 16 tackles to record a +5.35 Goals Added mark as his influence helped Portland rank third in the league overall with 48 goals in the regular season.

F – Karsen Henderlong, FC Naples (First Selection): Henderlong produced a breakout season for first-year Naples, ranking second in the league with 14 goals while also notching four assists on 32 chances created. The Indiana University product recorded a 52.2 percent shooting accuracy rate while ranking fourth in the league among outfield players with a +7.49 Goals Added mark as he accounted for 35 percent of his side’s regular season goals.

F – Juan Carlos Obregón Jr., Westchester SC (Second Selection): The Honduran international earned his second consecutive First Team selection as he proved the bright spot in Westchester’s inaugural campaign. Obregón claimed the Golden Boot with 17 goals while posting a 50.6 percent shooting accuracy rate and 19.5 percent shot conversion rate, and also notched two assists on 23 chances created, earning a league-leading +9.49 Goals Added mark.

F – Niall Reid-Stephen, South Georgia Tormenta FC: The Barbados international helped power Tormenta into the postseason as his 13 goals and seven assists led League One in goal contributions in the regular season. Reid-Stephen posted a 59.2 percent shooting accuracy rate and recorded 36 chances created while also winning 16 tackles at a 72.7 percent success rate defensively, earning a +6.71 Goals Added mark.

2025 USL League One All-League Second Team

GK – Carlos Merancio, Spokane Velocity FC (First Selection): Merancio ranked second in League One with 77 saves and recorded a save percentage of 72 percent, ranking second among Golden Glove-eligible goalkeepers for Velocity. The 27-year-old also posted a -3.36 Goals prevented mark while recording 10 shutouts, tied for second in the league.

D – Jaheim Brown, One Knoxville SC (First Selection): Brown made his mark for One Knox in his first season in League One, recording three goals, one assist and 16 chances created in the attacking half while also producing strong defensive numbers. The Jamaican ranked fifth among defenders with 35 interceptions while winning 18 tackles at a 66.7 percent success rate and making 65 recoveries.

D – Jake Dengler, FC Naples (Second Selection): Previously named to the 2022 Second Team while with South Georgia Tormenta, Dengler helped form a strong tandem in the center of Naples’ defense with Brecc Evans in its inaugural season. The 26-year-old led the league with 138 headed clearances, recording 204 overall, while winning 22 tackles at a 73.3 percent success rate and 139 duels at a 66.5 percent success rate. He also ranked tied for third in the league with 28 blocked shots, while earning a league-best +7.13 Goals Added mark among center backs.

D – Brecc Evans, FC Naples (First Selection): A former title-winner at North Texas SC, Evans earned his first All-League selection after teaming with Jake Dengler at the heart of Naples’ back line to lead the first-year club. Evans led the league with 223 clearances while also recording 71 recoveries and 21 interceptions and winning 111 duels at a 60 percent success rate. Evans also led the side with 1,454 passes and recorded 17 blocked shots to rank third in the league with a +6.35 Goals Added mark.

D – Charlie Ostrem, Union Omaha (First Selection): Ostrem had a breakout second season in Omaha, earning the USL League One Golden Playmaker award with 10 assists while becoming only the fifth player to record double-digit assists in a regular season campaign. The 26-year-old was also solid defensively, winning 129 duels at a 54.7 percent success rate while recording 106 recoveries, 29 interceptions and 65 clearances and winning 33 tackles at an 84.6 percent success rate, adding up to a +5.79 Goals Added mark on the season.

M – Eduardo Blancas, AV ALTA FC (First Selection): Blancas produced a standout campaign for first-year club Antelope Valley, recording 11 goals and five assists while notching 27 chances created. The 23-year-old’s quality from set pieces was on display throughout the season as he set a League One single-season record with six goals directly from free kicks – doubling the previous record – while posting a 68.2 percent shooting accuracy rate overall.

M – Bachir Ndiaye, Charlotte Independence (First Selection): Ndiaye provided a strong two-way presence for the Independence as he led outfield players with 201 duels won at a 54.9 percent success rate while also winning 27 tackles at a 60 percent success rate and recording 121 recoveries and 18 interceptions. The 26-year-old also recorded four goals and notched 17 chances created, posting an 84.6 percent passing accuracy rate and a league-best +5.04 Goals Added mark among central midfielders.

M – Ajmeer Spengler, Texoma FC (First Selection): Spengler sparkled for Texoma, leading the team with nine goals and tying for the team-lead with four assists while recording a 72.1 percent shooting accuracy rate and 20.9 percent shot conversion rate. The 24-year-old also won 24 tackles at a 66.7 percent success rate while notching 64 shots and 36 chances created overall to rank eighth in the league with a +7.10 Goals Added mark.

F – Babacar Diene, One Knoxville SC (First Selection): The Senegalese forward had a breakout season in Knoxville, recording 10 goals and three assists to become the first player to record double-digits in goals in a regular season for the club. Diene ranked fifth in the league with 63 shots and also notched 20 chances created, posting a shot conversion rate of 17.9 percent, while ranking second in the league with a +8.56 Goals Added mark.

F – Derek Gebhard, Forward Madison FC (First Selection): The veteran forward had a standout campaign, setting a Madison single-season record with 11 goals as he averaged a goal every 197 minutes, while posting a 64.5 percent shooting accuracy rate. Gebhard recorded 39 shots and 24 chances created overall as he tied for ninth in the league with a +6.90 Goals Added mark.

F – Ollie Wright, Portland Hearts of Pine: The English playmaker featured prominently in Hearts of Pine’s inaugural season, recording nine goals and eight assists while appearing in all 30 regular season games to help lead the side to the postseason. Wright ranked third in the league with 47 dribbles completed at a 54 percent success rate while ranking second in the league with 61 chances created and also notching 57 shots, earning a +6.31 Goals Added mark.
