TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced that One Knoxville SC forward Babacar Diene has been voted the USL League One Player of the Month presented by Konami eFootball for October after recording three goals and three assists over the final month of the regular season.
The Senegalese forward led all players with six goal contributions, recording three goals and three assists in five appearances to average a goal contribution every 71.7 minutes while leading the league with a +2.27 Goals Added mark.
Diene recorded either a goal or assist in each of the club’s five games in October, including finding the net in the final three games of the regular season. His game-winning goal in the final game of the regular season against Greenville Triumph SC proved key as the side won the 2025 USL League One Players’ Shield, the first silverware in its history.
“I’m so proud of winning Player of the Month award,” said Diene. “It shows the work I put in everyday and motivates me to keep on going.”
Diene’s final month lifted him to a piece of club history as he became the first One Knox player to record double-digit goals in a regular season with 10 goals in 30 appearances. The 29-year-old is now hoping to lead the club into its first USL League One Final as the top seed hosts No. 4 seed FC Naples in the Semifinals of the 2025 USL League One Playoffs presented by Terminix on Saturday night at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
Diene earned 44% of a weighted poll that included the USL League One Technical Committee and an online fan vote held at USLLeagueOne.com. The Richmond Kickers’ Adrian Billhardt finished second on 33 percent after recording two goals and two assists in four appearances, averaging a goal contribution every 67.8 minutes.
