NAPLES, Fla. – Defending USL League One champion No. 5 seed Union Omaha will begin its quest for a second consecutive title on the road to expansion club No. 4 seed FC Naples on Saturday night in the Quarterfinals of the 2025 USL League One Playoffs presented by Terminix. After finishing fourth in the league table, FC Naples will become the first club to host a playoff game in its first season in League One when the match kicks off from Paradise Coast Sports Complex at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN+. Here’s what you need to know.
How They Got Here
FC Naples (13-9-8, 47pts) – FC Naples was one of the strongest clubs on home field this season, only losing twice and taking 31 points from those 15 games. The expansion side went undefeated in its first eight competitive games before bowing out to the Tampa Bay Rowdies on penalties in the Third Round of the U.S. Open Cup. The Southwest Florida side hit a rough patch of form between mid-April to late-July, however an undefeated stretch in the late summer helped Head Coach Matt Poland’s side become the third club to punch its ticket to the playoffs in 2025, with a final-game victory against the Charlotte Independence pushing it into the top four in the standings.
Union Omaha (13-10-7, 46pts) – Union Omaha had an up-and-down season after capturing its second League One title in four seasons in 2024. The club’s best results in the early part of 2025 came in the U.S. Open Cup where it made a run to the Round of 32, knocking out USL Championship side San Antonio FC before falling to Major League Soccer’s St. Louis CITY SC. Los Buhos were inconsistent during league play, failing to put together a winning streak over two games until August, but found another gear in the second half of the regular season, losing only once and taking 32 points from its final 15 league games as its attack began to live up to its underlying numbers.
All-Time Series
The clubs split their regular season series, with each winning on its home field as Naples took a 3-1 victory at the Paradise Coast Sports Complex in the first half of the season before Omaha earned a 2-1 win at Werner Park late in the campaign.
Opta Says

Players to Watch
FC Naples – Karsen Henderlong: The Indiana University standout was a key piece for FC Naples this season after making the move over from USL Championship’s Indy Eleven. Henderlong finished second in League One’s Golden Boot race with 14 goals in 29 matches and his offensive prowess will be key to Naples’ ability to navigate the postseason.
Union Omaha – Charlie Ostrem: The defender has been a difference-maker all season for Omaha, providing 10 assists to earn the 2025 USL League One Golden Playmaker award. Ostrem had a 72% passing accuracy rate as he recorded more than 1,000 passing attempts in league play.
