USL League One Player of the Month Nominees – September

Which playmaker earns your vote for Player of the Month?

TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced the four nominees for the League One Player of the Month presented by Konami eFootball for September, with top performers from the seventh season's seventh month selected for the ballot.

Voting for the League One Player of the Month award will be conducted by the following two voting bodies:

  • A fan vote on USLLeagueOne.com will comprise 60% of the poll. The fan vote will run through Monday, Oct. 6, at 12 p.m. ET.
  • The USL Technical Committee's ballots comprise 40% of the poll.

The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Thursday, Oct. 9.

Please note: The League One Player of the Month selection process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards, such as League One Player of the Year or position players of the year. Additionally, the selection process takes both USL League One and USL Jägermeister Cup matches into consideration.

USL LEAGUE ONE PLAYER OF THE MONTH NOMINEES – September

  • F - Neco Brett, Spokane Velocity FC: The veteran USL Championship goalscorer has found his form in his first season in USL League One, scoring three goals and providing one assist across five matches and 372 minutes for Spokane. The 33-year-old also completed 81% of his passes, won 10 duels, added eight recoveries, placed eight shots on target and created four total chances.

  • F - Ropapa Mensah, Greenville Triumph SC: Mensah opened the month with goals in back-to-back matches before notching a 36-minute hat trick against Madison on Sept. 20. In addition to his five goals on the month, the 28-year-old Ghanaian won 35 duels, totaled 11 clearances, placed 10 shots on target and added six recoveries through 416 minutes.

  • M - Sergio Ors Navarro, Union Omaha: The first-year professional scored five goals and added one assist to help the defending champions to an undefeated 3-0-2 month. The reigning Sun Belt Player of the Year and United Soccer Coaches National Scholar Athlete of the Year set a league record by completing back-to-back braces in 17 regular time minutes, finishing the month with 14 duels won, seven recoveries and five shots on target across 229 minutes.

  • F - Niall Reid-Stephen, South Georgia Tormenta FC: The Barbados international and first-year Ibis led the league with seven goal contributions on the month. Reid-Stephen recorded three goals and four assists, scored or assisted all four match-winning goals of South Georgia's perfect 4-0-0 month and totaled 21 duels won, 13 recoveries, 11 chances created and 10 shots on target across 341 minutes.
