TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced that Portland Hearts of Pine midfielder Ollie Wright has been voted USL League One Player of the Month presented by Konami eFootball with five goal contributions in five appearnces.
Wright recorded two goals and three assists in five appearances, averaging a goal contribution every 69.2 minutes, while recording 10 chances created, 11 shots and a team-high +1.84 goals added mark.
"I'm buzzing to win Player of the Month," Wright said. "Massive credit to the guys — you can't win an award like this without them. The last few games have gone great, and hopefully we can continue this run as we head towards the postseason."
"Congratulations to Ollie," Portland head coach Bobby Murphy said. "This award is a testament to the hard work he has put in this year. Ollie would agree that this is a team award, and the players have done well. They can all take a lot of pride in the progress they have made."
Wright received 58% of a weighted poll that included the USL League One Technical Committee and an online fan vote held at USLLeagueOne.com. FC Naples forward Karsen Henderlong finished second on 34% with four goals and one assist, while South Georgia Tormenta FC midfielder Mason Tunbridge finished third on 7% with three goals and two assists.
