Greenville's Chevone Marsh named Player of the Week with hat trick in nine-goal thriller

TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced the Team of the Week for Week 23 of the 2025 regular season, with Greenville Triumph SC midfielder Chevone Marsh named Player of the Week presented by Konami eFootball with the first hat trick of his career in a 5-4 road victory against the Charlotte Independence.

In a contest that finished one goal short of equaling the all-time league record for most goals in a single match, first-year Triumph SC midfielder Chevone Marsh tallied a 28-minute hat trick to help Greenville to a big win in Charlotte. The performance marked the first time in the former Jamaica international's 14-year professional career in which he recorded a hat trick.

GK – Hunter Morse, Portland Hearts of Pine: Morse kept a clean sheet in Portland's scoreless draw against Richmond on Saturday, also recording 14 recoveries, completing 77% of his passes and winning a pair of duels.

D – David García, Spokane Velocity FC: The former USL League One and USL Jägermeister Cup champion scored his first Spokane goal on Saturday, helping his side to a 2-0 victory against Antelope Valley. The Spanish defender also completed 78% of his passes, won six of his seven duels, registered three clearances and recorded three recoveries.

D – Michael Chilaka, Forward Madison FC: Chilaka tallied the first assists of his professional career on Saturday, providing a pair of helpers in Madison's 2-2 draw against Knoxville. Through 180 minutes in Week 23, Chilaka totaled 10 completed long passes, seven clearances, six duels won, five recoveries, and completed 91% of his passes.

D – Rafael Jauregui, Charlotte Independence: The 20-year-old tallied a goal and an assist in a single match for the second time in his last four matches. Through 79 minutes, Jauregui completed 72% of his passes, won five duels, recorded two blocks and won both of his tackles.

M – Chevone Marsh, Greenville Triumph SC: The former Jamaica international bagged the first hat trick of his 14-year professional career, lifting Greenville to a 5-4 victory in Charlotte. The 31-year-old also completed 76% of his passes, won five duels, recorded three recoveries and completed three dribbles.

M – Nil Vinyals, Spokane Velocity FC: After posting back-to-back matches with a goal and an assist, Vinyals now sits atop the all-time League One leaderboard with 21 career assists. In addition to his match-winning score and second-half assist against Antelope Valley, Vinyals finished with an 89% passing accuracy rate, six recoveries, four total chances created and four duels won.

M – Max Schneider, Union Omaha: Schneider helped the defending champions to an unbeaten Week 23, playing all 90 minutes in the Owls' win against Westchester on Wednesday and draw against Chattanooga on Saturday. The 25-year-old finished with 19 duels won, 11 completed long passes, 10 recoveries, an 89% passing accuracy rate, six fouls earned, five completed crosses, five tackles won and four chances created.

M – Omar Hernandez, Chattanooga Red Wolves SC: With a goal against Madison on Wednesday and an assist against Omaha on Saturday, Hernandez helped the Red Wolves stretch their unbeaten streak to eight matches across all competitions. Through 139 minutes, Hernandez won nine duels, created five total chances, completed three long passes and connected on three crosses.

F – Mason Tunbridge, South Georgia Tormenta FC: The 24-year-old guided South Georgia to a 3-3 draw against Westchester on Sunday with a brace and an assist. Across a pair of Week 23 matches, Tunbridge totaled six successful crosses, five duels won, five completed long passes and four total chances created.

F – Christian Chaney, Charlotte Independence: With his fifth League One brace on Saturday, Chaney now sits behind only Emiliano Terzaghi on the league's all-time scoring list. In Charlotte's 5-4 loss against Greenville, the 30-year-old also won a penalty kick, won eight duels, placed all three of his shots on target and won three fouls.

F – Derek Gebhard, Forward Madison FC: Madison's all-time appearances leader scored in each of the 'Mingos' Week 23 contests. Across 119 minutes, Gebhard finished the week with four chances created, eight recoveries, three fouls earned, three duels won, and completed 92% of his passes.

Coach – Matt Poland, FC Naples: Poland has led Naples to a five-match league unbeaten streak and three consecutive 2-1 victories, featuring a pair of Week 23 home victories against South Georgia and Texoma.
