MADISON, Wis. - Forward Madison FC today announced it has signed 25-year-old midfielder Isaac Angking on loan from USL Championship side Rhode Island FC, pending league and federation approval.
"We're extremely pleased to add Isaac on loan," said Forward Madison FC Head Coach and Technical Director Matt Glaeser. "He's a two-way midfielder with quality, vision and strong movement. Isaac has a fantastic background at higher levels and is hungry to come in and show his quality in Madison.”
Angking, a Rhode Island native, began his career playing for local youth team, Bayside FC Bolts. At 14 years old, Angking joined the New England Revolution Academy. While at the Revolution Academy, he was signed to the senior squad as an MLS Homegrown Player. Angking made four appearances with the senior team during the 2018 MLS season before he was loaned out to USL Championship sides Hartford Athletic and Charlotte Independence in 2019. He later joined former USL League One side New England Revolution II, where he scored two goals and made eight appearances in 2020.
In 2022, Angking joined MLS NEXT Pro's Columbus Crew 2, making 19 total appearances and helping the developmental side claim the inaugural MLS NEXT Pro Cup. Angking returned to the USL Championship and his native Rhode Island with expansion side Rhode Island FC in 2024, making 13 total appearances and winning the 2024 USL Championship Eastern Conference title, despite dealing with injuries.
A United States youth international from 2016 to 2018, Angking has made seven appearances and scored four goals for the Puerto Rico national team since his debut with El Huracán Azul in January 2021.
"I'm extremely excited to join this special group of guys," said Angking. "I also want to thank the staff for giving me an opportunity to showcase my skills. I'm here with a chip on my shoulder, willing to help the team in whatever way possible so we can turn this ship around. It's been a warm welcome ever since I landed, and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for this beautiful club. Come on, Flamingos!"
