TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced the Team of the Week for Week 16 of the 2025 regular season, with Texoma FC midfielder Ajmeer Spengler named Player of the Week presented by Konami eFootball with a goal and an assist against the Charlotte Independence. The honor represents the first Player of the Week recognition for both Spengler and Texoma.
Following an impressive two-goal, seven-assist debut professional campaign with South Georgia Tormenta FC a season ago, Spengler has continued to stand out after making the move from Statesboro to Sherman in the offseason. With a goal and an assist in Texoma's 3-2 victory against Charlotte, the 24-year-old has already equaled his goal contribution total from a season ago in less than half the time, helping Los Pájaros shake off a slow start to their inaugural campaign and extend their club-record unbeaten streak to six matches.
"It was a great shift from the team for the entire 90," Spengler said. "We battled through adversity. We had our ups and downs in the game, and I think it was a testament to our resolve as a unit that we could come back from dropping two goals and scoring a third in the final minutes and seeing out the results."
"It's great to see Ajmeer being named Player of the Week," said Texoma Head Coach Adrian Forbes. "It's a long time coming with the way he's performed over the past few months. It's easy for me to say because I work with him every day, but it doesn't surprise me that he's achieved this accolade. It's not just his goals and assists, it's his all-around gameplay he's shown over the season that's been so crucial to our success, and I am so proud of him and everything he's accomplished so far and will accomplish this season."
