FC DALLAS 3 - 1 AV ALTA FC

DALLAS - Despite becoming the first USL League One team to advance to the Round of 32 of the U.S. Open Cup in its first season of existence since Northern Colorado (2022), AV ALTA FC bowed out of the tournament after a 3-1 loss against Major League Soccer's FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium on Wednesday night.

Former MLS MVP Lucho Acosta opened the scoring just three minutes in, converting a setup from United States international Shaq Moore, but Antelope Valley responded in the 16th minute through a long-range Osvaldo Lay goal struck from the visitors' half. Dallas reclaimed the lead before halftime when Kaick finished a sharp pass from Tsiki Ntsabeleng in the 43rd minute.

The second half saw Dallas solidify their advantage as former USL League One midfielder Bernard Kamungo netted a third FCD goal in the 71st minute. Despite multiple substitutions and a number of yellow cards late in the game, Dallas controlled possession and generated better chances, ultimately advancing to the Round of 16 for the 22nd time in club history.
