TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced that One Knoxville SC's Ian Fuller has been named the USL League One Coach of the Month for April.
After an unbeaten 2-0-1 month across USL League One and USL Jägermeister Cup play, first-year professional head coach Ian Fuller has Knoxville as the lone unbeaten side remaining in league play following victories against Greenville Triumph SC and FC Naples, before closing the month with a penalty kick shootout victory against USL Championship side FC Tulsa in the USL Jägermeister Cup. Knoxville ended the month in the lead or tied for the lead in expected goals (7.72), goals conceded (2) and losses (0) among League One clubs.
"Grateful for the recognition, but this is a testament to all the hard work the players and coaching staff have put in," Fuller said. "Considering the quality of opposition we have faced to start the season, I couldn't be happier with the effort and dedication shown by all. It's just a start for us, we're all really looking forward to the rest of the season."
Fuller joins Jay Mims (OMA, 2020), Eric Quill (NTX, 2019) and Matt Poland (NAP, 2025) as the only first-year professional head coaches to start a League One season with an unbeaten streak of five matches or more in league play.
Fuller earned the award with 57% of the ballot. Spokane Velocity FC's Leigh Veidman finished second on 43% after leading his side to an unbeaten 3-0-1 month, which featured a league-best 10 points won and eight goals scored.
Fuller was selected as League One's Coach of the Month by the USL League One Technical Committee.
