CHICAGO – USL League One's three remaining clubs in the 2025 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup learned their draw for the Round of 32 on Thursday, with all three sides facing Major League Soccer opposition on the road. For the third time in the last four seasons, three or more League One sides will participate in the tournament's Round of 32.
Chattanooga Red Wolves SC will hit the road to face Nashville SC in its first matchup with an MLS opponent. The Red Wolves have advanced to the Round of 32 for the first time in club history after advancing on penalty kicks in each of their three previous cup matches, recording dramatic results against UPSL side New Jersey Alliance FC, MLS NEXT Pro's Chattanooga FC and USL Championship team Las Vegas Lights FC.
Union Omaha has advanced to the Round of 32 for the third time in four tries, and the Owls will take on MLS side St. Louis CITY SC on the road for the second time in three years. The Owls will look to add to their league-leading total of five wins against higher-division opposition and two wins against MLS opponents. Omaha has taken care of business early in the tournament, downing each of its first three opponents - Flatirons FC, Des Moines Menace and San Antonio FC - in regular time.
The last remaining 2025 League One expansion side, AV ALTA FC will face MLS side and two-time U.S. Open Cup champion FC Dallas on the road in the latter's 50th Open Cup match. After downing in-state foes Ventura County Fusion, LAFC2 and Orange County SC, Antelope Valley will be tasked with its first road test of the tournament.
CBS Sports will provide live match coverage of the Open Cup across its linear and digital platforms, with every match in the Round of 32 and beyond streaming live on Paramount+.
