Greenville's Leo Castro named Player of the Week for second time this season with late winner

TAMPA, Fla. – USL League One today announced the Team of the Week for Week 5 of the 2025 regular season, with Greenville Triumph SC forward Leo Castro named Player of the Week presented by Konami eFootball with a match-winning score with minutes remaining against the Charlotte Independence.

The former CAF Champions League winner earned his fourth career USL League One Player of the Week recognition and second of the season after handing Charlotte its first loss of the season through an 86th-minute winner. Through only four league matches this season, Castro has already racked up five goal contributions for Triumph SC, kicking off the second month of the season with his 25th goal for the club.

"We knew that it was a tough game for us, but we came in with the right mentality. We knew we needed to get back in the win column tonight and move forward. A winning mentality is important to us, and the win will hopefully keep us going to win Wednesday and keep winning our matches at home."
