  • With a history dating back to the 2015 USL Championship season, the 23rd meeting between the Charlotte Independence and the Richmond Kickers marks a milestone for both sides; Richmond will become the first side Charlotte has faced more than 22 times, and the Independence will tie a Kickers record for most matchups against a single opponent at 23. Two of the longest-tenured coaches in the league, Charlotte's Mike Jeffries and Richmond's Darren Sawatzky, will face off again; the pair has combined for eight postseason appearances in the last 10 seasons.

  • FC Naples will look to build on a sold-out inaugural match at Paradise Coast Sports Complex as the newcomers host Forward Madison FC in the 'Mingos' first match of the season. FMFC is coming off its best season in club history, finishing third in the table and advancing to both the Semifinals of the USL League One Playoffs and the USL Jägermeister Cup Final. The 'Mingos have had trouble in season openers, though, recording losses in 2019 and 2020 before posting four consecutive 1-1 draws in the following seasons.

  • AV ALTA FC is set for its official debut, embarking on a cross-country voyage to battle South Georgia Tormenta FC. Former Goalkeeper of the Year Austin Pack and the Ibises conceded four goals to Richmond a week ago, so there's a good chance a visitor can find the back of the net to become the first goalscorer in AV ALTA FC history. Could it be Pack's former teammate in Charlotte, Miguel Ibarra?

Discipline Report – Week 2

The following is USL League One's discipline report for Week 2 of the 2025 regular season.

Chattanooga Red Wolves SC's Tobi Jnohope has been suspended for one match following his red card for violent conduct against FC Naples on March 8 in regular season play. Jnohope will be unavailable for selection in Chattanooga's regular season contest against the Charlotte Independence on Friday, March 28.

NEWS & NOTES

TITLE DEFENSE BEGINS FOR OWLS

Two-time title winner and defending champion Union Omaha kicks off its title defense in Greenville on Wednesday.
