SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Velocity FC today announced the signing of veteran USL Championship goalscorer Neco Brett, pending league and federation approval. The 32-year-old former Jamaica international forward has amassed 81 regular season goals in the USL Championship - the second most in league history.

Brett began his career developing with Jamaica Premier League sides Harbour View FC and Portmore United FC. Between 2012-15, Brett played collegiately at Robert Morris University. With the Colonials, Brett registered 42 goals and 16 assists in 67 appearances, earning a pair of All-NEC First Team honors in the process.

Brett was drafted by the Portland Timbers with the 40th selection in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. The Jamaican made a pair of appearances for the Timbers in U.S. Open Cup and MLS play in 2016, but spent the majority of his first season with the club with its developmental squad, Portland Timbers2, in the USL Championship.

After two seasons with Portland, Brett represented a number of USL Championship clubs including Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (2018-19), Birmingham Legion FC (2020-21, 2023), New Mexico United (2022) and Memphis 901 FC (2024).

Through nine seasons with USL Championship clubs, Brett has recorded 89 goals and 32 assists through 217 appearances across all competitions. His 81 goals and 107 goal contributions in the USL Championship regular season are second and fourth in league history, respectively.

On the international stage, Brett represented Jamaica's youth national teams. Brett made one senior national team appearance with the Reggae Boyz in a non-FIFA friendly against Catalonia in 2022.

"Neco has been one of the most prolific strikers in his past nine-plus years in the USL," said Spokane Head Coach Leigh Veidman. "He's coming off an upper-body injury that kept him out of most of the 2024 season, but he is incredibly hungry and excited to get back on the pitch and into his goalscoring ways and show why he sits top two in the all-time USL Championship top scorers list.

"It's important to note that Neco gets a lot of plaudits for the attacking side of the game, but he is a hardworking, humble and team-first person who will fit perfectly with our team, club and community."

"What excites me the most about joining Spokane is the stadium, the winning culture established in year one, and the very vibrant fanbase," Brett said. "I can't wait to get there and join my new teammates to continue creating history!"
