MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - Westchester SC announced the signing of 19-year-old midfielder Ermin Mačkić, adding the promising goalscorer to its inaugural roster, pending league and federation approval.

Born in Yonkers, N.Y., Mačkić developed with FC Westchester before playing one season of college soccer at NCAA Division III's SUNY Purchase. As a freshman in 2023, Mačkić started in all 16 matches for the Panthers and recorded 18 goals and 14 assists, leading the Skyline Conference in both. At the conclusion of the season, Mačkić was named to the Skyline Conference All-Conference First Team and earned Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year honors.

While in New York, Mačkić also played with FC Sandžak in the Cosmopolitan Soccer League.

In 2023, he spent time with UPSL side Westchester United FC's U-19 team at the Viareggio Cup in Viareggio, Italy. Mačkić made appearances against the U-19 teams of Empoli FC, Benevento Calcio and San Donato Tavarnelle, recording a pair of goals.

Mačkić spent the first half of 2024 with the youth teams of Serbian SuperLiga side FK Novi Pazar, making 12 appearances with the club's U-19 team.

The midfielder made his professional debut in the top-flight Montenegrin First League with FK Jezero in October 2024. Mačkić totaled two appearances with the club during his time in Montenegro.

"It's a different feeling playing in front of a crowd of people you know," Mačkić said.

During a preseason contest against MLS NEXT Pro's New York Red Bulls II - Westchester SC's first-ever match against professional opposition - Mačkić recorded a brace to help WSC to a 4-3 victory.
