SHERMAN, Texas - Texoma FC today announced the signing of 26-year-old defender Angelo Calfo, pending league and federation approval.
"We are incredibly excited to have Angelo here with us," said Texoma Assistant Coach Ben Clarvis. "He is a tremendous leader and has an immense presence on the field. We can't wait to see what he accomplishes with us this season."
Calfo, a native of Seattle, Wash., played collegiately at Gonzaga University between 2020 and 2022. During his time in college, Calfo spent time in USL League Two with Capital FC (2021) and Ballard FC (2022).
Calfo began his professional career in 2023 with NISA side Flower City Union. Across all competitions, Calfo made 21 appearances with Flower City and helped the side win a league title. Recently, Calfo appeared for NPL NNSW side Weston Bears FC in Australia.
"Angelo was a player we identified that has huge potential," said Texoma Head Coach Adrian Forbes. "He is a player that brings clear leadership qualities to the group and has some clear and key attributes that fit beautifully into our playing philosophy."
