SHERMAN, Texas - Texoma FC today announced it has signed 29-year-old winger Lamin Jawneh and 23-year-old forward Brandon McManus, pending league and federation approval.
A native of Banjul, The Gambia, Lamin Jawneh made his professional debut in the USL Championship with Atlanta United 2 in 2020, totaling 11 appearances. He spent the 2021 campaign with top-flight Liga Dominicana de Fútbol side Moca FC and recorded 24 appearances and one goal for the club. Jawneh recently enjoyed short stints in the USL Championship and NISA with Phoenix Rising FC in 2022 and Georgia Lions FC in 2024, respectively.
"Lamin is an incredibly exciting talent. The pace, the power that he possesses out wide really piqued my interest," said Texoma Head Coach Adrian Forbes. "I see a little bit of myself in the way that he uses those attributes to play out on the wing. He's an exciting player that we couldn't miss out on signing."
Forward Brandon McManus joins Texoma FC on his first professional contract after playing collegiately at the University of Kentucky (2019-20) and the University of Louisville (2021-23). In 76 appearances combined for the Wildcats and Cardinals, McManus recorded eight goals and nine assists.
Prior to his collegiate career, the Louisville, Ky. native was named the 2018-19 Gatorade Kentucky Boys Soccer Player of the Year.
"Brandon is an exceptional, young talent," said Forbes. "His ability and experience will be a huge asset for us as we prepare for our first season. He's a player who can change games, and I'm looking forward to seeing the impact he’ll have on the pitch."
