NAPLES, Fla. - FC Naples today announced the addition of 26-year-old midfielder Luka Prpa, pending league and federation approval.
"Luka was a player we identified early in the recruiting process. He has excelled in every environment he has played in. His experience and versatility will be important for us throughout the season," said Naples Head Coach Matt Poland.
Prpa made mark in MLS NEXT Pro with Chicago Fire FC II, recording nine goals and nine assists across 41 appearances during the 2023-24 seasons. His playmaking skills helped lead the team to back-to-back playoff appearances.
Before joining CFFC II, Prpa competed in the USL Championship, playing over 50 matches for Hartford Athletic and Rio Grande Valley FC. His performances showcased his technical ability, composure, and leadership on the field.
Prpa was a key player at Marquette University. He earned All-Big East Second Team honors in 2017 and 2019 and was named to the All-Big East First Team in 2018. His performances caught the attention of MLS scouts, leading to his selection as the 34th overall pick by Houston Dynamo FC in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft.
