COUVA, Trinidad and Tobago - The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association announced its 24-man roster for a pair of international friendlies against Jamaica on Feb. 6 and 9. The roster features Portland Hearts of Pine's Michel Poon-Angeron and Westchester SC's Noah Powder, marking the first international call-ups in each respective club's history.
The sides will meet on Thursday at the Montego Bay Sports Complex in Trinidad at 7:30 p.m. ET before concluding the home-and-home series on Sunday at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex in Kingston, Jamaica at 8 p.m ET.
Poon-Angeron, a 23-year-old midfielder, was announced as Portland's inaugural singing on Dec. 17, 2024 The Santa Cruz, Trinidad & Tobago native most recently competed for TT Premier Football League's AC Port of Spain in a pair of stints in 2023 and 2024. In 2024, Poon-Angeron briefly joined Salvadoran Primera División side CD Fuerte San Francisco. The midfielder began his career in the youth ranks of Argentine Primera División side CA Banfield.
A regular in the Soca Warriors' squad, Poon-Angeron has made 17 appearances for the Trinidad and Tobago national team across Concacaf Nations League, FIFA World Cup qualification and international friendly play. Poon-Angeron made his senior national team debut in a friendly against the United States on Jan. 31, 2021 and most recently appeared as a substitute for the Soca Warriors on Dec. 17, 2024 in a friendly against Saudi Arabia.
Powder, a 26-year-old midfielder, joined Westchester SC on Jan. 27, 2025, returning to New York and reuniting with his brother, Samory, on WSC's inaugural roster. A native of Edison, N.J., he began his youth career with the New York Red Bulls Academy, and his professional career kicked off in 2016 when he signed with New York Red Bulls II in the USL Championship. In 2019, Powder moved to Real Monarchs, the reserve team of MLS side Real Salt Lake, where he helped the club secure the 2019 USL Championship title. Powder has also played for Indy Eleven, FC Tulsa, Orange County SC, and most recently for USL League One side Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC, helping the Hailstorm claim the inaugural USL Jägermeister Cup crown.
Powder has represented Trinidad and Tobago at the international level since 2015. Powder made his senior national team debut in an international friendly against the United States on Feb. 1, 2021. Since then, he's gone on to make 23 appearances and provided two goals and four assists for the Soca Warriors across Concacaf Nations League, Concacaf Gold Cup and FIFA World Cup qualification play.
