SHERMAN, Texas - Texoma FC continued to add to its inaugural roster, signing CFU Caribbean Cup and Canadian Championship-winning defender Jorge Corrales and veteran USL defender Preston Kilwien, pending league and federation approval.

The 33-year-old Corrales, a Pinar del Rio, Cuba native, began his professional career in the top-flight Campeonato Nacional de Fútbol de Cuba with his hometown club FC Pinar del Río. From 2009 to 2015 with Cuban sides Pinar del Río and FC Sancti Spíritus, Carrales made nearly 100 appearances and was named Pinar del Río's MVP in three consecutive seasons.

After obtaining a U.S. visa in 2015, Carrales joined amateur side Fortuna SC in Miami before returning to the professional ranks with NASL side Miami FC in 2016. After making one appearance for Miami, the Cuban concluded the 2016 NASL season with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, making 18 appearances.

In 2017, Carrales joined FC Tulsa before making the move to join Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire FC. Coralles returned to Tulsa on loan from Chicago before eventually being traded to CF Montréal in MLS, eventually helping the club win the 2019 Canadian Championship to claim its fourth Concacaf Champions League berth. During his four-year stint in MLS, Carrales made 61 appearances for Chicago and Montréal across Concacaf Champions Cup, MLS Cup Playoffs, MLS, MLS is Back, U.S. Open Cup and Canadian Championship play.

He rejoined FC Tulsa for the 2021 season and has remained in Oklahoma since, logging over 80 appearances for the club across four seasons. In his first season in League One, Carrales captained Lexington SC and made 29 appearances across all competitions.

Between 2011 and 2023, the 33-year-old defender made 46 appearances for the Cuba national team, appearing in competitions including FIFA World Cup qualification, Concacaf Gold Cup, Concacaf Nations League and the CFU Caribbean Cup, among others. Corrales guided Los Leones del Caribe to a Caribbean Cup title in 2012 - their first tournament victory since winning the gold medal at the 1986 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

"Once I was aware that I could sign a player with the experience of Jorge, it was one that I had to explore," said Texoma Head Coach Adrian Forbes. "I am delighted to not only bring his qualities as a player to the club but also his leadership."

"I'm really excited to be here and to be a part of this project," Corrales said. "A lot of good things are coming and with all the fans cheering in the stadium every game, we can achieve anything. I am looking forward to the first game and meeting all the fans. Vamos Texoma!"

28-year-old Preston Kilwien will return to his native Texas for the first time in his seven-year professional playing career. He started his playing career in California, appearing for numerous youth teams around the San Francisco and San Jose area. His soccer journey continued in the Sunshine State as he attended Florida Gulf Coast University, winning two Atlantic Sun Conference titles and being named ASUN Conference Defensive Player of the Year during his senior year.

"I'm incredibly excited for the opportunity to represent Texoma FC in its inaugural USL League One season," said Kilwien. "After speaking with the staff, it was clear that this was the right place for me - a club with the vision, ambition and environment I was looking for. I can't wait to get started!"

Following stints in the lower divisions of semi-professional soccer in the United States, Kilwien signed his first professional contract for then USL Championship side New York Red Bulls II in 2019. His time in New York proved to be fruitful as in his two years with the club, he made over 30 appearances in the Championship.

His stint in New York earned him moves to Championship powerhouses Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC and the Charleston Battery in 2021 and 2022, respectively, racking up a further 60 appearances in the league between the two sides.

Kilwien moved to League One's South Georgia Tormenta FC in 2023 which saw him earn 62 appearances for the USL League One side across all competitions. His time with Tormenta FC also saw him achieve many personal accolades including accruing over 10,000 professional career minutes and making over 150 professional appearances.

"Preston is a player that was put on our radar, and after initial conversations with him - along with his clear determination to want to be part of what we are building here - it was great to get the deal done. With how we want to play, Preston's attributes will suit that style well," said Forbes.
