STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC today announced it has re-signed veteran midfielder Aaron Walker, pending league and federation approval. Walker, 34, will take on a dual player-coach role for the club, contributing on the field while mentoring and developing the next generation of players.

"We are honored to have Aaron back with us for the 2025 season," said South Georgia Head Coach Ian Cameron. "Bringing him back was crucial as he will help guide our squad both on and off the field. His high-caliber play and leadership were an invaluable addition to our team during the second half of last season, and we can't wait to see his impact as he maintains excellence on the field but adds value across more divisions."

A native of Woodstock, Ga., Walker immediately made his mark after joining Tormenta FC mid-season in 2024, scoring a stunning goal against Spokane Velocity FC in his debut. Walker made nine appearances for the club throughout the 2024 season and scored two goals.

Collegiately, Walker played four seasons at Oglethorpe University, where the captain led the Stormy Petrels to its first-ever SCAC Men's Soccer Championship title and NCAA Division III Tournament appearance in 2011. In 2012, Walker spent time with the NPSL's Georgia Revolution.

Walker began his professional career with then-second-division Icelandic side BÍ/Bolungarvík in 2015, totaling one goal in 22 appearances. After spending time in Iceland, Walker impressed in an open tryout for John Harkes' FC Cincinnati side and was signed by the then-USL Championship club in 2017.

Not seeing any playing time in Cincinnati, Walker spent the 2018 season with the NPSL's Atlanta Silverbacks FC and totaled 10 goal contributions before reuniting with his former head coach, John Harkes, at Greenville Triumph SC for the club's inaugural campaign in 2019.

Alongside Harkes, Walker helped build Greenville into a perennial League One power, guiding the club to a 2020 USL League One championship, the 2020 USL League One Players' Shield, and captaining the club in both the 2019 and 2021 USL League One Finals.

The 2021 USL League One All-League Second Team selection has amassed 131 appearances with Greenville across all competitions between 2019 and 2023 - the third-most in club history. In terms of all-time League One regular season statistics, Walker is seventh with 130 matches played, sixth with 10,663 minutes played and seventh with 55 matches won.
