STATESBORO, Ga. - South Georgia Tormenta FC today announced the addition of 22-year-old forward Jonathan Nyandjo and 27-year-old defender Joseph Pérez, pending league and federation approval.

"Jonathan is a dynamic forward with a proven ability to impact games," said Tormenta FC Head Coach Ian Cameron. "He's at his best running at players, delivering crosses and arriving in the box to score. We are thrilled to have him join our squad and look forward to seeing the energy and creativity he brings to our attack in 2025."

A native of Charlotte, N.C., Nyandjo had a standout collegiate career at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. From 2020-24, Nyandjo played 56 matches, including 42 starts, and tallied 11 goals and nine assists. He notched four goals and four assists in his senior campaign, leading the 49ers to an American Athletic Conference title and an NCAA Tournament appearance. His senior performances earned him first-team All-American honors and recognition as a semifinalist for the prestigious MAC Hermann Trophy.

Nyandjo developed his skills with USL League Two's Charlotte Independence 2 in the summer of 2021. In March 2024, he signed his first professional contract with Crown Legacy FC, the MLS NEXT Pro affiliate of Charlotte FC. Over his debut professional season season, Nyandjo made 28 appearances, recording three goals and one assist while maintaining an 82.8% passing accuracy.

Pérez joins Tormenta FC after developing with Club Puebla's youth teams between 2015-19 and later spending time in the USL Championship, NISA and MLS NEXT Pro.

"We're pleased to welcome Joseph Pérez to our squad," Ian Cameron said. "JP helps the team progress the ball really effectively and he has the IQ to take interesting positions up. He also brings a positive energy to the locker room, the lad loves playing soccer with a smile."

Pérez signed his first professional contract in 2018 with Club Puebla of Mexico's Liga MX. That July, he was loaned to Las Vegas Lights FC in the USL Championship and played seven matches during the remainder of their inaugural season.

In February 2020, Pérez signed with NISA's San Diego 1904 FC. He made an immediate impact, scoring his first professional goal in his debut match against Stumptown Athletic AC. The following season, Pérez joined the Los Angeles Force, before joining Cal United Strikers in 2022.

Most recently, Pérez spent two seasons with Chattanooga FC. In the 2023 NISA season, he started all 24 matches and recorded one assist. In 2024, Chattanooga joined MLS NEXT Pro, and Pérez appeared in 26 games, recording one assist and a passing accuracy of 82.7%.
