PORTLAND, Maine - Portland Hearts of Pine today announced a batch of five new additions to its inaugural roster, pending league and federation approval. Hearts have signed midfielder Jay Tee Kamara, defender Shandon Wright, goalkeeper Kash Oladapo, goalkeeper Hunter Morse and forward Titus Washington ahead of the 2025 League One season.
Amongst the group, 22-year-old Jay Tee Kamara and 24-year-old Shandon Wright bring the most professional experience to Hearts. Kamara signed his first professional contract with USL Championship side Louisville City FC in 2021. He made his professional debut in USL League One with North Carolina FC on loan from LouCity. Louisville then transferred Kamara to Columbus Crew 2 in 2022, and the Freetown, Sierra Leone native won the inaugural MLS NEXT Pro Cup. Kamara spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons with third-division Swedish side Ljungskile SK before joining second-division Swedish outfit Sandvikens IF in August 2024.
"I'm excited to be a part of the first-ever team in Portland, Maine, and I'm looking forward to bringing joy and excitement to all our supporters," Kamara said.
Shandon Wright made his professional debut in NISA in 2021 with Albion San Diego before joining Mongolian side FC Ulaanbaatar and later NISA's Savannah Clovers FC. The Costa Rican moved to Municipal Grecia in the Primera División of Costa Rica in July 2024, making 18 appearances with the Panthers across all competitions.
"I was drawn to the club's culture and ambition," Wright said. "Joining felt like an opportunity to be part of something special."
Hearts also added a pair of goalkeepers to its inaugural roster, signing 22-year-old Kash Oladipo and 26-year-old Hunter Morse. Oladipo developed in the Portland Timbers Academy and spent time with Portland Timbers2 in the USL Championship between 2017-20 before playing collegiately at the University of Portland.
Morse played collegiately at Michigan State University and Western Michigan University before being selected by FC Cincinnati with the 51st selection in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. He made his professional debut in MLS NEXT Pro with FC Cincinnati 2, totaling 12 appearances for the reserve side.
24-year-old Titus Washington will begin his professional career in Maine after a successful collegiate career at California State University, Sacramento (2019-23) and Seattle University (2024). The Carlsbad, Calif. native was an All-Big West Conference Honorable Mention in 2021 and registered 26 goal contributions throughout his collegiate career.
"I think the energy the club has produced already is something I am really excited about," Washington said. "I've always heard good things about Maine, and I can't think of a better place to spend my first professional season."
