LANCASTER, Calif. - AV ALTA FC today announced it has signed League One title-winning goalkeeper Carlos Avilez, pending league and federation approval.

The 26-year-old former United States and Mexico youth international can become the first player in League One history to play for five different clubs; Avilez has spent time with North Texas SC (2019-20), South Georgia Tormenta FC (2021), Chattanooga Red Wolves SC (2022-23) and Central Valley Fuego FC (2024). Avilez is one of only nine players in League One history who have participated in all six previous seasons.

In League One history, Avilez ranks fourth among goalkeepers in saves (246), matches played (99), games won (38), minutes played (8,784), and matches started (99). His 19 clean sheets rank seventh all-time among goalkeepers.

After helping North Texas SC claim the inaugural USL League One Players' Shield and lift the 2019 USL League One Final trophy, Carlos Ávilez again returned to the League One Final just three years later, this time with Chattanooga. In 2021, Avilez made a pair of appearances for South Georgia Tormenta FC where he developed behind Pablo Jara. Avilez spent the 2024 season in California with Central Valley Fuego FC, totaling 20 appearances across all competitions.
