LANCASTER, Calif. - AV ALTA FC today announced the signing of 21-year-old Bulgarian defender Kaloyan Pehlivanov, pending league and federation approval.

The Svilengrad, Bulgaria native began his career with the youth teams of a pair of Bulgarian First Professional Football League in PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv and PFC CSKA Sofia. He made his professional debut in the Bulgarian second division with FC Krumovgrad in September 2022, eventually helping the 100-year-old club secure promotion to the top flight for the first time in its history.

Pehlivanov spent the 2023-24 First League season with Krumovgrad before joining fellow First League side FC Hebar Pazardzhik for the 2024-25 campaign. In his three-year professional career, the defender has tallied 44 professional appearances in Bulgaria.
