PORTLAND, Maine - Portland Hearts of Pine today added a trio of promising playmakers to its inaugural 2025 roster, pending league and federation approval. Midfielder Patrick Langlois is set for his second season in USL League One after a standout 2024 with Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC, while collegiate stars Mikey Reilly and Evan Southern join on their first professional contracts.

Langlois, a 25-year-old midfielder, spent the 2024 campaign with Northern Colorado, winning the inaugural USL Jägermeister Cup. Prior to joining the Hailstorm, Langlois played for Australian outfit South Melbourne FC in the second-division National Premier Leagues Victoria. In two seasons with South Melbourne, he scored 18 goals in 56 matches.

A native of San Diego, Calif., Langlois made his professional debut with the A-League's Newcastle Jets FC in 2019. Between 2019 and 2020, Langlois made eight appearances for the Jets across A-League and Australia Cup play. In 2021, Langlois suited up for Hume City FC in the National Premier Leagues Victoria.

"It's a special year for the community of Maine, and I'm looking forward to giving my everything on and off the field," Langlois said.

23-year-old midfielder Mikey Reilly and 23-year-old forward Evan Southern are set for their professional debuts after starring collegiately at Carthage College and James Madison University, respectively.

Southern, a native of South Glastonbury, Conn., also played collegiately at Saint Louis University (2019) and Iowa Western Community College (2020-21). In three seasons at JMU, Southern bagged 12 goals and provided 14 assists.

Reilly joins Portland after a five-season stint at NCAA Divison III's Carthage College where he set all-time school records for most goals (48) and most points (126).

"What excited me most about Portland was the incredible vibe of the town and its people, the sense of community, and especially Portland's hunger and passion for soccer," Reilly said. "I'm thrilled to work with Bobby Murphy; his playing style really excites me and aligns with the way I like to play the game. Also, Stephen King told me to go for it, so I went for it."
