GREENVILLE, S.C. - Greenville Triumph SC today announced the addition of 24-year-old forward Michael Gonzalez and 23-year-old defender Griffin Tomas, pending league and federation approval. Both Gonzalez and Tomas made their professional debut in the USL Championship in 2024.

A Fresno, Calif. native, Michael Gonzalez played collegiately at Fresno City College (2019) and California State University, Sacramento (2020-23). With Fresno City College, the forward led the team in assists and guided his side to a California Community College Athletic Association state championship. At Sacramento State, Gonzalez totaled seven goals and three assists.

Gonzalez signed his first professional contract with USL Championship side Monterey Bay FC in 2024 and made 24 appearances with the club across all competitions. He scored his first professional goal in a 3-1 victory against Las Vegas Lights FC in April.

Griffin Tomas joins Triumph SC for his first full professional season after making his professional debut with USL Championship side Hartford Athletic on a 25-day contract last season.

Tomas played collegiately at Monmouth University - alongside current Greenville midfielder Ben Zakowski - between 2019 and 2023, providing six goals and eight assists. In addition to his time with Hawks, the Seymour, Conn. native also spent time with AC Connecticut in USL League Two and Hartford City FC in the NPSL.
