STATESBORO, Ga. - South Georgia Tormenta FC today announced the addition of 21-year-old Tanzanian defender Jackson "Simba" Kasanzu and 23-year-old Barbados international midfielder Niall Reid-Stephen, pending league and federation approval.

Kasanzu began his career with USL League Two side AFC Ann Arbor in 2022, where he made nine regular season appearances and totaled 640 minutes of play. His performance earned him a professional contract with USL Championship side San Diego Loyal SC in August 2022. During his time with San Diego, Kasanzu made 21 appearances and scored three goals, helping the team reach the USL Championship Playoffs in 2022.

"Jackson is a strong addition to our defense, bringing aerial ability and athleticism to help us be more aggressive," said Tormenta FC Head Coach Ian Cameron. "He showed great promise at San Diego Loyal SC and has endured some hardship since. Our job is to help Jackson get back to his best in our environment and help launch him back to the level his potential deserves.”

Reid-Stephen spent time with Barbados Premier Division side UWI Blackbirds FC before moving to the United States to play collegiately with Chicago State University (2021-22) and Florida Gulf Coast University (2023).

In 2024, Reid-Stephen joined Appalachian FC, where he scored two goals in the NPSL side's semifinal match to secure a win and advance to the conference championship match. After the 2024 NPSL playoffs, Reid-Stephen signed with Asheville City SC of USL League Two. He made an immediate impact by helping the team to a dominant 4–0 victory in the conference quarterfinals, securing a spot in the national semifinals.

At the international level, Reid-Stephen earned his first senior cap for Barbados on Sept. 30, 2018 in a friendly match against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Since then, he has made 19 appearances and totaled 15 goal contributions across Concacaf Nations League, FIFA World Cup qualification and international friendly play. Notably, Reid-Stephen has scored 10 goals and provided two assists in his last eight matches with the Bajan Tridents.

"We're pleased to add a dynamic and versatile player like Niall to our frontline," Ian Cameron said. "He can operate central and wide, a profile we're keen to add to our squad. Niall has found his best form for his national team, and we're hopeful he can start showing consistency in our framework. We enjoy his ability to beat players and hope our fans will, too."
