NAPLES, Fla. - FC Naples today announced the signings of defender Ian Garrett and midfielder Marc Torrellas, pending league and federation approval.

Garrett, a seasoned left-back, adds a wealth of international and domestic experience to the club's defensive lineup. Having played professionally in Finland and Sweden and contributed to playoff success with Rochester New York FC, the 28-year-old defender is expected to be a key figure in fortifying FC Naples' backline.

"Ian is an experienced professional. He has proven his abilities across multiple leagues and countries. He is a dynamic player who creates dangerous opportunities from the flanks,” stated Naples Head Coach Matt Poland.

Garrett's career spans multiple continents and competitive levels. He featured in Finland's top-flight Veikkausliiga with FC KTP in 2021 and also has experience in Finland's second division. He also spent time in MLS NEXT Pro with Rochester New York FC and Orlando City B.

Marc Torrellas, a standout midfielder, has earned accolades for his exceptional performances at both collegiate and semi-professional levels. Torrellas concluded an illustrious collegiate career as one of Loyola University of Chicago's all-time greats, showcasing leadership and versatility in the midfield. Across five seasons, he consistently excelled, logging over 1,400 minutes each season and ranking among team leaders in shots. Torrellas was also named to the All-Atlantic 10 First Team in 2023 and First Team All-Missouri Valley Conference in 2021.

Torrellas continued his career in USL League Two, earning a position on the 2023 USL League Two Team of the Year while playing for Chicago City SC. He then achieved a spot on the 2024 USL League Two Team of the Year with Des Moines Menace.

At 23 years old, with a shining career at the collegiate and semi-pro levels, this signing marks the start of Torrellas' journey in professional soccer.

"We are excited to give Marc his start in professional soccer," said Matt Poland. "He is a player who had a great collegiate career and stood out in USL League Two. We are confident he will continue to excel as he takes this next step in his career."
