NAPLES, Fla. – FC Naples today announced the signing of goalkeeper Edward "Lalo" Delgado, pending league and federation approval. The 26-year-old Oxnard, Calif. native broke out through two seasons with Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC.

"Lalo has a proven track record as a goalkeeper in the league," said Naples Head Coach Matt Poland. "He checks all the boxes both in his experience and performances on the field. We are excited to see him in the net for FC Naples."

Delgado began his career at NCAA Division II Westmont College, where he played from 2016 to 2019. In the summers, the goalkeeper made appearances with Ventura County Fusion in USL League Two.

Delgado signed his first professional contract with USL Championship side Las Vegas Lights FC in 2020, making his professional debut for the Lights in March 2020. Across the 2020 and 2022 seasons, Delgado tallied a combined 16 appearances and three clean sheets for Las Vegas and Phoenix Rising FC.

The goalkeeper enjoyed a career resurgence after signing with former League One side Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC ahead of the 2023 season. Across a pair of stellar seasons in Windsor, Delgado helped the Hailstorm clinch back-to-back postseason berths and totaled 67 appearances and 24 clean sheets across all competitions.

Notably, Delgado guided Northern Colorado to the inaugural USL Jägermeister Cup title in a dramatic penalty kick shootout victory, and the shot-stopper also finished as a finalist for the USL League One Goalkeeper of the Year awards in both 2023 and 2024. In 2023, Delgado earned League One Save of the Year honors, and in 2024, the 26-year-old was named to the USL League One All-League Second Team.

Despite playing just 52 regular season matches, Delgado's 22 clean sheets are the fifth-most in League One history. Delgado's 13 clean sheets in the 2023 League One regular season matched a single-season league record.
