GREENVILLE, S.C. - Greenville Triumph SC today announced the signing of Ghanaian goalscorer Ropapa Mensah, pending league and federation approval. The former Chattanooga Red Wolves SC forward's 21 goals are tied for the second most in League One history among African players.
Mensah began his professional career in his native Accra with Ghana Premier League side International Allies FC. Mensah joined USL Championship sides Penn FC (2017) and Nashville SC (2018) on loans from Inter Allies before NSC purchased the forward from the club following the 2018 campaign.
Mensah spent the next three seasons in the USL Championship with Nashville SC (2019), Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (2020) and Sporting Kansas City II (2021). Across all competitions for the quartet of USL Championship clubs, Mensah totaled 117 appearances, 27 goals and 13 assists.
In 2022, Mensah returned to Africa to play for Egyptian Second Division side Port Fouad SC.
In 2023, Mensah returned to the United States and signed with USL League One side Chattanooga Red Wolves SC. Through two seasons at CHI Memorial Stadium, Mensah made 52 appearances, scored 21 goals and earned USL League One Player of the Month honors in April 2024.
